Wellness Incentives for Children and Adolescents
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas offers extra services called Value-Added Services (VAS) to our Medicaid and CHIP plan members. The VAS below are designed with your child’s health in mind.
Gift Cards for Preventive Care
Get rewards for taking care of your health. You can earn gift cards for completing certain preventive care services. BCBSTX wants to encourage kids to visit their primary care provider (PCP) regularly. Timely check-ups are important to maintain overall health, especially during the adolescent years.

Checkups for Children and Adolescents:
| CHIP members ages 2 to 18 years old and STAR and STAR Kids members ages 2 to 20 who get their yearly checkup are eligible | $25 | To get the gift card, members must be active on the plan at the time of the checkup and visit an in-network PCP. |
Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccine
| Members ages 9 to 13 years old who get the required doses of HPV vaccine | $25 | To get the gift card, members must be active on the plan at the time of the checkup and visit an in-network PCP. |
