Dental Services for Adult Members (CHIP Perinate and STAR Plans)
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas offers extra dental services called Value-Added Services (VAS) to our adult members on these plans:
- CHIP Perinate (members ages 19 through 64)
- STAR (members ages 19 through 64)
This VAS is designed with your dental health in mind. VAS dental care is administered by DentaQuest®.
Help Paying for Dental Treatments
Adult CHIP Perinate and STAR members can receive up to $250 per year to help pay for preventive, diagnostic, and dental care treatment. These services may include:
- Dental exams and cleanings
- Dental x-rays
- Cavity fillings
- Tooth extractions
Limitations: Members must be adults on the STAR plan or CHIP Perinate plan. They must be enrolled with BCBSTX at the time of the request. Services must be received from a contracted DentaQuest dental provider. The maximum amount covered is $250 per year.

Need dental care? Eligible CHIP Perinate and STAR plan members should contact DentaQuest directly with questions. DentaQuest can help members to identify in-network providers and obtain approvals for dental care.
