24/7 Nurse Advice Line for CHIP and STAR
CHIP and STAR plan members may call the 24/7 Nurse Advice Line to help them decide if their illness requires a visit to their doctor or the ER. Teens can also talk to a nurse privately.
Health Problems Don’t Always Follow a 9-to-5 Schedule
The 24/7 Nurse Advice Line is ready to answer your health care questions any time you need it. If an unexpected medical situation arises, a nurse can help you decide if you should call your doctor, visit the ER or urgent care, or treat the problem yourself. A nurse can also help you after hours to access emergency medicines or durable medical equipment. They will let you know if you can wait to see the doctor the next day.
Call for health problems such as:
- Asthma
- A baby’s nonstop crying
- Chronic health problems (back pain, diabetes, heart disease)
