Blue Cross Medicare Advantage has contracts with pharmacies nationwide that equal or exceeds the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services requirements for pharmacy access. To get benefits, you must use network pharmacies or mail-order service, except in emergencies.
Blue Cross Medicare Advantage also has a preferred network of pharmacies that you may use to get plan benefits at a lower copay than other standard network pharmacies.

Preferred Network Pharmacies
Blue Cross Medicare Advantage has formed a preferred network of pharmacies that you may use to receive plan benefits at a lower copay than the other standard network pharmacies. Preferred network pharmacies include Albertsons, Amigos, Health Mart Atlas independent pharmacies, HEB, Kroger, Market Street, Randalls, Tom Thumb, Walgreens and United Supermarkets. Other pharmacies are available in our network.
Lower your prescription copays by choosing preferred network pharmacies and convenient mail-order service.
In addition to network pharmacies, you can use AllianceRx Walgreens Prime. It’s a mail-order service that offers:
- Three ways to order refills: online, by phone or through the mail
- Up to 90-day supply of medications at one time
- Notifications when your order is received and when your prescriptions are sent (by email or over the phone, whichever you prefer)
Covered drugs are available at out-of-network pharmacies in emergency or unusual circumstances and for non-routine access to covered Blue Cross Medicare Advantage drugs (illness while traveling outside the plan’s service area where there is no network pharmacy, for example). For more information on these special circumstances for out-of-network coverage and/or what pharmacies may be available to you, please contact us.
