Announcing myVirtualCare Access Plan: A Virtual-First Health Option

April 29, 2026

Applies to Self-Funded Large Groups and National Accounts*

What is it: myVCAP, with care by Teladoc Health® is a health care plan that adopts an innovative “virtual first, not virtual only” benefit design. The plan is administered by Luminare Health. It incentivizes members to utilize a Teladoc Health primary care provider to coordinate their health care through other virtual and in-network providers.

The details: Members access health care through the Teladoc Health app, and are incentivized to use virtual care first, with connections to in-network, in-person care being coordinated by their Teladoc Health primary care provider.

Why this matters: Virtual-first health plans address primary care gaps while achieving the savings and care coordination objectives of traditional PCP-led plans with enhanced convenience, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness. For members who choose this option, myVCAP simplifies how they can engage with their health care, making it easier to decide how, when and where to get care through a combination of financial incentives and concierge navigation – whether it’s virtual or in-person. If you have any questions, please contact your Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas representative.

FAQs

Q: Is myVCAP a virtual-only solution?
A: The plan operates with a virtual-first, but not virtual-only, approach to care. With myVCAP, members can still get access to the in-person care they need when they need it. Once a member enrolls, they have 24/7 access to a broad range of virtual care services all for $0 copay, and coordinated support for in-person care (at a lower copay), all accessible through the Teladoc Health app.

Q: What are myVCAP’s design specifics?
A:
The plan’s innovative two-tiered benefit design structure encourages utilization by offering $0 copays to see a Teladoc Health primary care provider, or uses any other Teladoc Health programs including 24/7 Care, mental health care, nutrition, dermatology, chronic condition management or expert medical services. It also includes lower specialist co-pays when the Teladoc Health primary care provider coordinates their care.

Q: What are the anticipated cost savings?
A:
Employers can anticipate at least 10% of projected cost savings over a traditional plan.

Q: Is there a certain employer demographic that myVCAP is uniquely well suited for?
A:
According to the 2023 National Healthcare Quality and Disparities Report, more than 6 in 10 U.S. counties, predominately rural areas, are designated as Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) indicating a significant lack of primary care providers. myVCAP addresses unique member needs for access to care.
