Does your child need health insurance? Uninsured children may be able to get care through the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) designed CHIP to help eligible people with paying for commercial health insurance.

BCBSTX serves CHIP members in the Travis service area which includes these counties: Bastrop, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays, Lee, Travis and Williamson.

  • Women ages 10 to 45 and pregnant women who are covered by CHIP and CHIP Perinatal may be able to get insect spray to prevent the Zika virus infection. The insect spray will be covered at no cost until October 31, 2016. Eligible members will not need a prescription. Call customer service for help at 1-888-657-6061, TTY 7-1-1.

Plan Details

The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas CHIP program will work with you so you get the benefits and services you need. You’ll have help coordinating your medical care. You’ll also have access to local providers, resources and programs. Staying healthy is your goal. It’s our goal, too.
