Blue Cross Medicare Options

You have a choice when it comes to your Medicare health coverage through Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, a Division of Health Care Service Corporation. You can choose from our Medicare Advantage plans, Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans, and Medicare prescription drug plans.

Part vs. Plan

When you’re learning about Medicare, you may see a lot about "Parts" and "Plans." For instance, you may read about Part A or Plan A. The two are different, but they are easy to separate. Here is information you need to remember:

PARTS

Medicare is made up of parts.

Medicare parts cover specific benefits, like hospital or doctor visits, medications, and more. Most people have Part A and Part B. Some people may have Part C, a Medicare Advantage plan that combines Part A and Part B with additional benefits. Other people have Part D.

PLANS

Medicare Supplement insurance is made up of plans.

Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans cover certain costs that the Medicare parts do not cover. Different Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans cover different types of costs.
