Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) is required by federal and state law to give a notice to plan members about how we can use and disclose their personal health and financial information. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) helps to protect your privacy. If you are covered by a health insurance plan, you should get a Privacy Practices Notice. The notice tells how your Protected Health Information (PHI) can be used or disclosed.
