Negotiation with Austin Area OBGYN

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas is negotiating new contracts with Austin Area OBGYN.

If BCBSTX and Austin Area OBGYN don’t sign new contracts before Feb. 4, 2026, Austin Area OBGYN providers won’t be in network for health plans at BCBSTX, including your TRS-ActiveCare plan.

We’re working closely with Austin Area OBGYN and hope to sign new contracts before that date.

You're our priority. We want to reach an agreement that will continue to give you access to Austin Area OBGYN doctors at fair prices.

Even if Austin Area OBGYN leaves our networks, you’ll continue to have access to our network of doctors, health care professionals, hospitals and facilities. Check for options based on your plan by logging in to your member account online or through the BCBSTX App. You can also call a Personal Health Guide at 1-866-355-5999, available 24/7.

Why It Matters

If we can’t reach an agreement, Austin Area OBGYN doctors will no longer be in network for all TRS-ActiveCare plans on Feb. 4:

  • TRS-ActiveCare Primary
  • TRS-ActiveCare Primary+
  • TRS-ActiveCare HD
  • TRS-ActiveCare 2

Why Negotiate

As a customer-owned health insurance industry leader in Texas for 95 years, we advocate on your behalf for high-quality, cost-effective health care. Our goal is to protect your access to quality care at affordable rates. It's a responsibility we take seriously.

Next Steps

If we can’t reach an agreement, or if you want to find another in-network doctor or hospital, we’ll work with you to move your care:

  • Visit Provider Finder to find an in-network doctor or hospital near you.
  • Log in to or sign up for your member account online or use the BCBSTX App.
  • Call a Personal Health Guide at 1-866-355-5999.

In the case of a life-threatening illness or injury, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency facility right away. Emergency services for commercial networks are covered at the in-network benefit level.
