Member ID Cards

If you have TRS-ActiveCare HD or TRS-ActiveCare 2, are NEW to TRS-ActiveCare or switched plans, you’ll get a physical ID card in the mail for the 2026-27 plan year.

What to Expect

Whether you’re new to TRS-ActiveCare, or have been a participant for years, your ID card includes important coverage information. 

Each family member enrolled in the TRS-ActiveCare Primary, TRS-ActiveCare Primary x Arlington ISD, TRS-ActiveCare Primary x Region 4 or TRS-ActiveCare Primary+ plan will get their own ID card with their Primary Care Provider’s name printed on it.

On the front of the card, you’ll find:

  • ID and group numbers
  • details about your deductible and cost-sharing responsibilities
  • information about virtual health costs

On the back, you’ll find:

  • contact numbers for Personal Health Guides and the 24/7 Nurseline
  • individual and family deductible information
  • your maximum out-of-pocket amount

Need help getting an ID card?

If you don’t receive your new ID card or want to request an additional card, you can:

  • Log in to Blue Access for MembersSM to request a new card be sent to you.
  • Download a copy of your digital ID Card in BAMSM or via the BCBSTX App.
  • Call a Personal Health Guide at 1-866-355-5999 or chat through the BCBSTX App.

Digital ID Card

A digital ID card gives you easy access to your coverage information all the time. While you may have received your ID card in the mail upon enrollment, you can also get it digitally. And yes, you can use the digital ID card at doctor’s appointments. There’s two ways you can get your digital ID card – on your phone and on your computer.

By phone

  1. Download the BCBSTX App.
  2. Log in with your BAM username and password. If you don’t have one, create an account.
  3. On the dashboard, select View ID Card.
  4. That’s it! You’re looking at your digital ID card. You can save the ID card directly to your phone for easy access.

By computer

  1. Log In to BAM using your username and password. If you don’t have one, create an account.
  2. Click on the ID card icon on the dashboard.
  3. That’s it! You’re looking at your digital ID card. You can download or print the ID card from here

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I get a copy of my digital ID card?

    You have access to your digital ID card anytime, from your phone, tablet or computer. There are TWO WAYS to access your digital ID card: 

    Accessing your digital ID card in Blue  Access  for  Members

    1. Go to the TRS-ActiveCare website.    

    2. Click Log in using your BAM username and password. If you don’t have one yet, create an account. You need your ID number and Group number to log in. If you don’t know them or need help logging in, call a Personal Health Guide at 1-866-355-5999. 

    3. Click on the ID card icon on the dashboard. 

    Accessing your digital ID card on the BCBSTX App

    1. Download the BCBSTX App from the App Store or Google Play Store.  

    2. Or, text BCBSTXAPP to 33633 to get a link to the app sent right to your phone. 

    3. Once you have the app downloaded, log in with your BAM username and password. If you don’t have one yet, create an account. You need your ID number and Group number to log in. If you don’t know them or need help logging in, call a PHG at 1-866-355-5999. 

    4. Once you’re in, choose View ID card on the dashboard.  

  • Is there a way to save my digital ID card to my phone?

    You can screenshot your ID card and save it to your photos on your phone. On Apple devices, you can also add your ID to your digital wallet.

  • Does everyone in the family have access to their digital ID card?

    Yes, each covered member 18 and older can get their own digital ID card through the app or BAM. They’ll log in using their BAM username and password. They’ll need to create an account if they don’t have one yet. They can call a PHG at 1-866-355-5999 if they need help logging in. 

  • Do I have to save a new copy of my ID card every year?

    As long as you stay in the same TRS-ActiveCare plan, your ID card is valid. If you switch plans, you’ll have a new card to download, show to providers and save to your phone.

  • What do I do if my provider asks me for my physical ID card?

    Some providers are trained to ask for a physical card even though they can get all the information they need from your digital ID card. If they insist on seeing a physical ID card, you have options:  

    1. Email them a copy of your digital card.  
      • You can do this from your photos if you saved a copy of your digital ID there.
      • Or, you can follow the instructions in BAM or the app to download and share your digital ID.  
    2. Call a PHG at 1-866-355-5999 for help. They can reach out to your doctor’s office if needed.
