2024 Survey Results: Marketplace Members Rate Satisfaction with Providers

Through the annual Qualified Health Plan Enrollee Experience Survey, our members in marketplace health plans provide feedback on their experiences with their health plan and its contracted providers. The survey is a useful tool to assess service gaps and develop specific improvement strategies. 

Summary of 2024 results: The overall health plan rating has not changed significantly since 2023. The response rate increased from 13% in 2023 to 15% in 2024. Key findings on the 2024 survey were:

Performing well 

  • Rating of health care
  • Rating of specialist
  • How well doctors communicate − showed respect
  • Getting needed care − getting specialist appointment

Measures that showed improvement

  • Cultural competence
  • Getting care quickly
  • Rating of personal doctor
  • Care coordination

Measures needing improvement

  • Getting needed care − getting care, tests or treatment
  • Advising smokers and tobacco users to quit
  • Discussing cessation strategies

QHP survey method: The QHP survey asks a random sample of members enrolled in their health plan for at least six months about their experiences. Conducted through mail, phone and online, the survey takes approximately 12 minutes to complete.
