Physician Performance Insight (PPI) reports are now in Availity for physicians that have met eligibility requirements for the Physician Efficiency, Appropriateness, and QualitySM (PEAQSM) program. These reports show how physicians compare to peers and include information to improve future performance. It is important for providers to review their reports because the data will influence Provider Finder® to show better performers higher in search results. In the future, when providers are not scored on the NPI level, PEAQ may score them at the Tax ID level.
Log in to Availity to view your PPI report. If you are not registered for Availity, sign up for a free account by going to Availity® Essentials and selecting “Register” in the top right corner. Refer to the Availity User Guide for information on viewing results.
PPI reports employ logic from the August 2020 methodology for the medical appropriateness component and from the May 2022 methodology for quality of care and cost-efficiency components.

PEAQ 101
Following PPI report delivery, the PEAQ team will offer PEAQ 101 sessions for physicians to learn more about the program. In these sessions, the team will provide a brief overview of the program, review PPI reports, and address pre-submitted questions. Register for these sessions (Central Standard Time) below and submit questions to PEAQ_analytics@bcbstx.com:
- August 30 @ 8 a.m. – 9 a.m.
- September 6 @ 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.
- September 11 @ 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.
- September 18 @ 8 a.m. – 9 a.m.
- September 27 @ 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.
