BCBSTX STAR Kids is a health plan that provides Medicaid services for children and youth. The STAR Kids program is for children and youth age 20 and younger with disabilities who qualify for Medicaid. The BCBSTX plan is available in the following counties in both the Travis and the Central Medicaid Rural Service Areas (MRSA): Bastrop, Bell, Blanco, Bosque, Brazos, Burleson, Burnet, Caldwell, Colorado, Comanche, Coryell, DeWitt, Erath, Falls, Fayette, Freestone, Gillespie, Gonzales, Grimes, Hamilton, Hays, Hill, Jackson, Lampasas, Lavaca, Lee, Leon, Limestone, Llano, Madison, McLennan, Millam, Mills, Robertson, San Saba, Somervell, Travis, Washington and Williamson.
The STAR program is for people who qualify for Medicaid and who are either pregnant, have limited income, are newborns or receive cash assistance (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families - TANF). BCBSTX is pleased to provide a STAR plan for people and families who qualify under Medicaid. The BCBSTX STAR Plan is available for those who qualify in the following counties: Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays, Lee, Travis and Williamson.
The CHIP program is for those who do not qualify for Medicaid and are either age 18 and younger or pregnant. The BCBSTX CHIP Plan is available for those who qualify in the following counties: Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays, Lee, Travis and Williamson.
