Indicating the correct beneficiary designation is often overlooked when applying for life insurance. If beneficiary information is not updated, it may lead to issues at claim time. Beneficiaries submitted in the old version of My UT Benefits, or at any time via paper, are not available to view in the new system. However, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) does store this information and these designations will remain in effect until you make beneficiary changes in the new system. If you would like to see your beneficiaries online, you must re-enter this information.
