State-of-the-Art outdoor fitness court coming to Alaniz-Villagomez All-Inclusive Park

ALAMO, Texas — The City of Alamo, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas and National Fitness Campaign announced a partnership to bring an outdoor Fitness Court^® Studio and digital wellness programming to Alaniz-Villagomez All-Inclusive Park in the City of Alamo. The Fitness Court, 423 N. Tower Road, will open 10 a.m. Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.  

The Fitness Court Studio was developed by City of Alamo, BCBSTX and NFC to expand free access to high-quality workouts and create equitable access to exercise for regional communities. The Fitness Court is the world’s best outdoor gym that lets people use their own body weight to get a complete workout using seven exercise stations.  

Created for people at least 14 years old of all abilities, the workouts are adaptable for all fitness levels, allowing participants to move at their own pace. Users also may download the free Fitness Court app which acts as a coach-in-your-pocket and enhances the outdoor gym into a digitally supported wellness experience. The City of Alamo is one of more than 40 campaign partners in a network of Fitness Courts statewide with the help of BCBSTX.

This partnership allows us to offer a free, high-quality fitness resource for all residents, and it reflects our commitment to building spaces that support wellness, equity, and community pride. We are grateful to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas and the National Fitness Campaign for helping us invest in the long-term health of the people we serve,” said Alamo Mayor J.R. Garza.
