You may request a 90-day extension for existing prior authorizations for Medicaid patients with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas who have been affected by the floods in Central Texas. The extended authorizations must contain the same proportional amount and frequency as the original authorization. 

This extension applies to:

• Prior authorizations set to expire from July 2, 2025, through Sept. 29, 2025
• Prior authorizations that require recertification, including acute care and long-term services and supports such as personal assistance services, personal care services, Community First Choice, private duty nursing, physical, occupational and speech therapies, and day activity and health services

This extension does not apply to:
