Reminder: In accordance with House Bill 3940, 89th Legislature, Regular Session 2025, a newborn is automatically eligible for Medicaid and the mother’s Medicaid ID number may be used by providers for billing purposes until the child is assigned a separate Medicaid ID. This provision helps ensure that newborns have timely access to covered services until enrollment processing is complete.
