Reminder
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) ensures our providers are informed about the changes to the LTSS billing matrix and how that will impact provider requirements for prior authorizations and claims submissions. We have informed our network providers of the following:
Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) will make updates to the STAR Kids Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS) billing matrixes. This notification contains important billing information for providers participating in these programs.

How will providers receive updated prior authorizations that contain the new procedure codes and modifiers?
All prior authorization requests and claims for LTSS services for service rendered 12/1/2022 going forward should contain the updated procedure codes and modifiers found in Appendix III, LTSS Billing Matrix and Crosswalk.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) Service Coordinators have reissued the impacted authorizations. Please contact the Service Coordination team at 1-877-301-4394, if you have not received all of the expected updates.
