Are you a new mother or expecting a baby?
You may be able to receive breastfeeding support and lactation counseling services. These services are covered at no cost for BCBSTX plan participants if you go to a trained, network provider. This could be a provider such as an Obstetrician-Gynecologist, Pediatrician, Certified Nurse Midwife, Certified Nurse Practitioner or Certified Nurse Specialist.
Our Blue Distinction Centers (BDC) for Maternity Care (for ActiveCare HD and ActiveCare 2 participants) and Health Care Centers of Excellence Maternity Care (for ActiveCare Primary and ActiveCare Primary+ participants) may offer breastfeeding support in your area. Or if you'd prefer, please ask your doctor about providers in your area who offer these services. Confirm the provider is in the BCBSTX network by using the Provider Finder®. Or call a Personal Health Guide at 1-866-355-5999 to confirm network status.
