    A Participating Provider Option (PPO) is a network of doctors and hospitals who have contracted with Blue Cross and Blue Shield to provide care at negotiated prices. When you receive care from a PPO doctor or hospital you will receive higher benefits than if you receive care from outside of the network of PPO providers.

    A provider is a licensed health care facility, program, agency, doctor or health professional that delivers health care services.
  • What should I do if I can't find my Doctor in Provider Finder?

  • Am I covered if I am away from home or outside the United States
    As a Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas member, you and your dependents may be covered for care you receive while away from home or outside the United States. Most plans have requirements for notifying your doctor and/or Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas for emergency and non-emergency treatment.
