Electronic Claim Rejections on April 2, 2012
The following reject message was returned on April 2, 2012, for some electronic claims submitted February 28 through March 20, 2012: “Due to a system error, claim was rejected by payer. Please resubmit this claim.” Claims that were rejected must be resubmitted for processing.
The system error causing the above reject message was related to “future dates” and has since been corrected. Availity®’ now has an edit in place that will allow claims within a file that do not contain a future date to process as usual. Only those claims truly containing future dates will be rejected.
Note: Dates submitted on claims are compared to the transmission date in the file to determine if they are a future date. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas does not accept future dates in any fields.
