Clear Claim Connection

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) offers Clear Claim Connection™ (C3) as a web-based code auditing reference tool. Designed by McKesson Information Solutions, Inc. C3 "mirrors" how BCBSTX’ current code auditing software evaluates code combinations during the adjudication of a claim. This tool allows you to access BCBSTX’ claim auditing rules and clinical rationale inherent in the code auditing software.

On October 12, 2009 enhancements were made to the Clear Claim Connection claim audit screens. Clear Claim Connection (C3) is an online code auditing tool that enables BCBSTX to disclose our claim auditing rules and clinical rationale to our contracting provider network. These changes to C3 include reordering of the entry screen fields, reordering of the result screen fields, and also on the edit clarification screen there is now a date/time stamp, and a Recommendation field has been added. These enhancements were designed to simplify the review of BCBSTX's payment policies, rules and edit rationale that are available on C3 via BCBSTX's website.

To access Clear Claim Connection, you will need to register with RealMed.  For your references, we have provided log-in instructions.

Once you have entered Clear Claim Connection, you have the ability to enter claims data in order to display the claims auditing results. If you would like more information please contact Provider Customer Service at 1-800-451-0287 or your local Professional Provider Network office.
