Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas pursues contract with Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and CHIP Perinatal Exclusive Provider Organization (EPO) Programs to provide health care services to uninsured children (ages 0 – 18) throughout 170 counties in Texas……..
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas has mailed a letter of intent to over 66,000 physicians, facilities and other health care providers in Texas for a non-binding commitment to participate in a proposed network for the existing Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and CHIP Perinatal Exclusive Provider Organization (EPO) Programs.
In order to be successful in these efforts, BCBSTX must demonstrate a high-quality, cost-effective network of participating providers. We would like you to participate in our proposed CHIP and CHIP Perinatal EPO Programs. A contract amendment to your current PPO/POS Managed Care Agreement with BCBSTX will be formalized if BCBSTX is awarded the contract by HHSC.
Please acknowledge your intent to participate by signing the enclosed non-binding Letter of Intent (LOI) and returning it via fax to (877) 726-4399 by Friday, August 29, 2008.
