If you are an in-area participant (living in Texas), you will receive a new HealthSelect medical ID card and Caremark prescription drug card by mail around September 1, 2010. Make sure your primary care physician's (PCP) name is on the card. If it is not, select your PCP as soon as possible and notify BCBSTX.
If you are a retiree over age 65 and Medicare is your primary coverage, or you are an out-of-area participant (living outside Texas), you will not receive a new medical ID card unless you are new to HealthSelect on September 1, 2010. (You will, however, receive a new prescription drug ID card from Caremark.)
If you need medical care before you receive your HealthSelect medical ID card:
- Log in to your Blue Access for Members account to print a temporary ID card; or
- Have your provider call BCBSTX Customer Service at (800) 252-8039 and one of our representatives will verify your coverage.
If you need a new prescription drug ID card, call Caremark at (888) 886-8490.
