The Governor's Challenge and the Personal Health Manager: It's okay to double-dip! |
Every January, Governor Rick Perry and Texas Round-Up challenge adults to engage in at least 150 minutes of physical activity per week (300 minutes/week for children under 18), for six weeks.
As a proud partner of the Texas Round-Up, BCBSTX accepts the Governor's Challenge and we encourage HealthSelect participants and their families to do the same.
Why?
- Bragging rights - Awards go to groups with the highest participation rate in their respective categories. Create a team and compete for the Governor's Cup and the title of "Fittest in Texas!"
- Fun - Challenge your co-workers and find creative ways to reward the winners.
- Double-dip and earn rewards - Log your activity for the Governor's Challenge in GetFitTexas!, then log the same activity into the Personal Health Manager and earn Blue Points for rewards like fitness gear and gift cards to retail stores.
- Better health - The benefits of exercise are huge. You can increase your chances of living longer and control your blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and weight.*
When?
To receive your Governor's Challenge certificate or compete for the Governor’s Cup (awarded on April 24), log physical activity you completed between January 1 and April 10 into GetFitTexas!
