HealthSelect of Texas participants now have the option of using Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) contracting Retail Health Clinics for medical services. A Retail Health Clinic is a health care clinic located in a retail setting that provides services of a routine nature rendered by appropriate licensed medical staff, which may include Advanced Practice Nurses, Physician Assistants, and/or Physicians.
In addition to the BlueChoice network providers and facilities available to you, you also have access to ParPlan providers. These providers have agreed to terms to accept an allowed charge, or discounted price for their services. However they do not hold any plan specific contracts, so benefits will apply to out-of-network. The ParPlan physicians can be located through the Provider Finder. NEW! Effective November 2008, a new feature was introduced that allows you to send your provider search information directly to your cell phone using the "Send to My Phone" link. When you receive the results from your provider search, this option will be available to you. You'll receive a text message with the details of the provider you chose.
