Make sure your physicians are in the network
Services you receive during an inpatient admission or outpatient surgery may include services rendered by a hospital-based physician such as an anesthesiologist, pathologist, radiologist, neonatologist, or an emergency medicine physician. If any of these physicians are not in the network, you will be responsible for any charges above the allowable amount.
In an effort to minimize your out-of-pocket expenses, you can use our Provider Finder to assist you in determining which facilities have hospital-based physicians who are contracted with BCBSTX. Your out-of-pocket expenses will be greater if you use a facility where hospital-based physicians do not contract with BCBSTX.
