If you think you may have a hard time paying for health insurance costs, help may be around the corner. There are 2 ways you can save on health insurance costs: premium tax credits (which can be used to help pay for coverage) and cost sharing assistance (which can help with out-of-pocket costs). To get help:
When you fill out your application on the Marketplace, you'll find out what kind of assistance you qualify for.
Please select the size of your household:
*If you can get health insurance through your employer, you may not qualify for a premium credit.
When applying for health coverage on the Health Insurance Marketplace, you or a family member may qualify for a government program at low or no-cost, such as Medicaid or Medicare. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas offers several different types of health insurance options for your current situation.
If you qualify for a premium credit, it will be applied directly toward your health insurance premium.
If you qualify for help paying your out-of-pocket health insurance costs such as deductibles, coinsurance and copays, those savings will be applied automatically. You must sign up for a silver plan to get help paying these out-of-pocket costs.
Only the government can tell you if you will get a credit and how much it will be.
Don’t Qualify for a Premium Tax Credit? We’ll help you find the right plan to fit your budget.
