Here are some good questions to keep in mind when exploring your options:
Remember that a health insurance plan covers more of the costs of medical services if you go to a doctor or hospital within the plan's Participating Provider Option (PPO) or Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) network.
When you're shopping for insurance, look closely at the plan network. Check to see if you will be able to get as many services within the network as possible, and that you'll have options if you decide to go outside the network.
