BCBSTX Activity Book for Kids Promotes Healthy Smiles During National Children’s Dental Health Month
Tooth decay affects children in the United States more than any other chronic infectious disease.* Untreated, tooth decay leads to pain and infections, and makes it difficult for children to speak, eat, play and learn. So it's appropriate that the American Dental Association has designated February as National Children's Dental Health Month.
Knowing that prevention is always better than treatment, BCBSTX has created a fun way to promote children's good oral health habits, so vitally important to giving them an early start on a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums.
As February approaches, our BlueCare Dental ConnectionSM Program is mailing "Fun with Healthy Teeth" to members' households with children between the ages of 3 and 5 years old and considered at risk for tooth decay.
As fun as it is informative, the book is sure to put smiles on recipients' faces, and help to ensure their smiles are the brightest and healthiest they can be. Now that's something to smile about!
