Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas and Midland Memorial Hospital Continue a Tradition of Offering In-Network Services to BCBSTX Members in 2009
Richardson, TX — Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) and Midland Memorial Hospital have confirmed that they will continue to provide access to in-network emergency and non-emergency surgeries and other health care services to BCBSTX members.
"We want to be sure that Blue Cross members know that Midland Memorial is still a participating hospital in the Blue Cross Blue Shield network," says Shannon Stansbury, vice president Network Management, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas. "This means Blue Cross members will receive hospital services such as nursing care and room charges at network benefit levels. For medical emergencies, a member’s emergency visit will be paid at the in-network benefit level at Midland Memorial."
"We are pleased that our hospital continues to have a positive contractual relationship with Blue Cross Blue Shield," said Kristin McClure, Managed Care Contracting Specialist for Midland Memorial Hospital."
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas — the only statewide, customer-owned health insurer in Texas — is the largest provider of health benefits in the state, working with nearly 40,000 physicians and 400 hospitals to serve 4 million members in all 254 counties. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas is a division of Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC), the country’s largest customer-owned health insurer and fourth largest health insurer overall. HCSC is a Mutual Legal Reserve Company and an Independent Licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.
