Do you have glaucoma?

Annual eye exams for glaucoma patients.
Glaucoma is a disease that can damage the eye's optic nerve and result in vision loss and blindness. Glaucoma is the leading cause of blindness. Glaucoma occurs when the normal fluid pressure inside the eye slowly rises. There are multiple types of glaucoma. There is no cure for glaucoma; however, with medication and/or surgery, it is possible to halt further loss of vision and blindness.

What can you do?
Since glaucoma is a chronic condition, it must be monitored for life. Comprehensive eye exams and tests are needed to monitor pressure in the eye. Lowering pressure inside the eye reduces the chance of losing vision. It is best to regularly visit a doctor and follow any prescribed treatments in order to preserve your sight and live life fully.
