BLUE CROSS AND BLUE SHIELD OF TEXAS CELEBRATES 10TH ANNIVERSARY IN MARSHALL
The Opening of the Blue Cross Facility in Marshall was A Success for the Entire Business Community in 1997.
Marshall, TX. (Oct. 8, 2007) – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) said today that its employees and staff will celebrate the 10th anniversary of its customer service center in Marshall, Texas, with a festive luncheon at noon, Friday, Oct. 12, with invitations going to many local officials, dignitaries and business leaders who are expected to attend.
“We are excited about the business, employment and economic development opportunities that have come to fruition in the Marshall business community during the years since Blue Cross located in Marshall,” says Nica Lawson, director of the Marshall Full Service Center. “As we continue growing and serving more members, we are confident that the outstanding work force in the Marshall area will help us continue to deliver high levels of customer service.”
The theme of the celebration, “Remember When,” fits Blue Cross’ history well, because the concept of health insurance was pioneered in Texas by Blue Cross, which has a rich history of being a vital part of Texas and Texans through their years of growth and development. Since its founding 75 years ago, the cross and shield have come to represent the largest, most experienced health care coverage organization in the state and the nation.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas – the only statewide, non-investor-owned health insurer in Texas – is the largest provider of health benefits in the state, working with nearly 40,000 physicians and 400 hospitals to serve 3.5 million members in all 254 counties. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas is a division of Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC), the country’s largest non-investor-owned health insurer and fourth largest health insurer overall. HCSC is a Mutual Legal Reserve Company and an Independent Licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.
