CONSTRUCTION OF AMARILLO CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTER HITS ITS TARGET AS NEW BLUE CROSS EMPLOYEES MOVE INTO TEMPORARY SPACE

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas Reaches Milestone with Selection and Training of New Management Team.

Amarillo, TX. (August 2, 2007) – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) announced today that it has reached a hiring milestone with the addition of nearly 100 employees who will staff its new Amarillo Customer Service Center. In addition, its new management team in Amarillo has been in place more than 60 days and is completing extensive training to prepare for the move into the new Amarillo Facility.

“It’s exciting to see so many plans coming together right on schedule,” says Patty Escoe, director of the new Amarillo Center. “We are pleased that the construction of the new facility is on target for a late November or early December move-in date.”

The staff recently moved into a temporary training facility at the Chase building in downtown Amarillo, where they are getting operations underway until the new building is completed. Although construction of the new center, located in the Point West Business Park, is progressing slightly ahead of schedule, it is still too early to set a definite move-in date.

Qualified applicants interested in submitting an application for future jobs can submit applications at their convenience using, BlueRecruit, a user-friendly, online job application tool that can be accessed day or night at the Blue Cross web site (www.bcbstx.com).”
